Department of Family Medicine, Horizon Health Network, is actively seeking a Family Physician to establish a new practice or take over an existing one in the Town of St. Stephen in a fee for service environment. Physicians participate in community-based as well as in-hospital care. Participation in the hospitalist rotation is a requirement. Shifts are available in Emergency Medicine.
Charlotte County Hospital is an acute care 44 bed facility with a 24-7 Emergency Department. Physicians may participate in Family Medicine teaching programs of both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and residents. Horizon Health Network is affiliated with Dalhousie University and Memorial University of Newfoundland and teach medical students and residents. An appointment to the teaching staff may be available to qualified candidates.
The community, which borders the United States of America, is a hub for many forest related businesses and is the home of Ganong Brothers Ltd. The Hospital recently opened a satellite renal dialysis unit to its services in 2012.
Canadian College of Family Physicians certification preferred, but consideration will be given to other North American qualifications and training. A location grant for $20,000 and a business grant of $15,000 are currently available to qualified candidates. Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
