Labrador-Grenfell Health provides quality health and community services to a population just under 37,000 and covers the communities north of Bartlett’s Harbour on the Northern Peninsula and all of Labrador. Labrador-Grenfell Health is seeking the services of a permanent full-time Pediatrician to join our multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include outpatient clinics, consultation for Inpatient and Emergency Department patients, as well as consultant services for the region via telehealth. This position will involve travelling clinics within the region. Job duties will also include diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders, ordering laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures, the prescription of medication and treatment, consultations with other physicians, referring patients to specialists and/or surgeons, and conducting medical research. Responsibilities will also include: Providing service in Pediatrics at the Labrador Health Centre. Providing clinical services in Pediatrics within the scope of practice including consultations, follow up visits, ongoing care and seeing outpatients in an ambulatory clinic setting. Providing treatments and therapies in which the incumbent had been adequately trained and supervised. Providing on-call services at a rate of 1:3. Providing 9 half-days of direct clinical care per week. Providing visiting Pediatric clinics at the Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony and the Labrador West Health Centre in Labrador City. Frequency will be a minimum of six one-week clinics per year combined. Abiding by the Labrador Grenfell Health Medical Staff By-Laws, the policies of the organization, the rules and regulations of the Medical Staff and the Canadian Medical Association Code of Ethics Participation in undergraduate and post-graduate medical teaching
Medical Degree with specialist training in Pediatrics. Applicants should have residency training completed in either of the following countries: in Canada, United States, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland OR South Africa.
