Hospitalist / Family Practice Physician
Earning Potential $190,000 – $200,000

Terms of employment and wages: This position is a permanent, full-time, Salaried position.
Job duties: Your primary role would be providing patient care in both a Hospitalist and Family Physician function. The services include chronic disease management, acute inpatient care, long term care, palliative care, respite care, prenatal care, emergency care/patient stabilization and transfer, chemotherapy, and minor surgery. Physicians contribute to the care provided by walk-in clinics, general practice clinics, and on-call coverage.
- General Practice Inpatient rounds are required Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm) at community Health Care Centre
- On-call coverage responds to consultations primarily from the Emergency Department but will include other Family Practice settings in the community and surrounding areas; critical escort duties; surgical assisting, when required.
- When not providing on-call duties at the community Health Centre, the position will provide clinics at other regional Health Care Centre’s. Clinics are held 5 days per week. The incumbent is required to provide clinics from 9am to 5pm and will see a minimum of four patients per hour.
- Other responsibilities will include Emergency room shifts as required; Chemotherapy Services; Medical Clearance for psychiatry patients at the request of the attending psychiatrist; participation in the Medical Audit Committee.

Education and experience: Medical Degree with specialist training in Family Medicine. Preference will be given to candidates who have or are eligible for a certificate with the College of Family Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Skills required: Specialist training in Family Medicine; ability to work effectively, independently and in a multidisciplinary team; English written and verbal communication skills.
